![]() From November 26 to Dec. 1, 2017, my wife and I traveled to the islands of Langkawi and Penang with her family. Altogether there were 9 of us in two cars. In this picture, you can see my wife, Karin, her father and 2 sisters on our way to Langkawi. To reach Langkawi, we drove up the North South highway to Kuala Kedah in the northwest corner of peninsular Malaysia. Karin and her family are waiting in a small Chinese restaurant for the ferry to take us to Langkawi. The crew of the Langkawi ferry is Malay so I started talking to them in their language. When the young caption heard me speaking Malay, he invited me up to the bridge, and I spent the entire 90 minute voyage sitting beside him! We finally arrived at the small seaport of Kuah in Langkawi.
